Judo Ireland AGM
Judo Ireland AGM
Once again the AGM in Athlone was very well attended. This was the 2nd AGM of Judo Ireland and it was clear that the organisation is going from strength to strength.
The meeting was opened by the chairman and kicked off with the technical report. The coaching training program has progressed well with the added achievement of production of a coaching DVD. 400 mats were purchased for use by Judo Ireland Clubs and 500 more are on order due to demand. 6 new clubs have been opened in various locations in the last year and more are planned. It was agreed that a technical syllabus would be developed in the coming year for those not interested in competition but still have a desire to advance in judo. Group public liability insurance has been finalised and application forms will be on the website shortly.
The treasurer presented very healthy accounts that were in the black yet again. This is in no small way due to the fact that administration costs being kept to a minimum by our treasurer, Eamonn Ward, his efforts are much appreciated. Again the opportunity was given to people to join the IBBA to help fund the development of a national dojo. Building plans have been drawn up and a number of sites are being considered.
The development officer presented the calendar of events for the past year, which featured a number of very successful competitions, high performance training sessions, gradings and summer camp. Many thanks to Paddy Murphy for his services as head coach at the summer camp. The preliminary calendar was agreed for next year.
The meeting ended cordially and all were pleased with the achievements of the past year.
