The Irish Black Belt Association
The Irish Black Belt Association (IBBA) was formed in 2001. Its membership is
drawn from a number of Martial Arts organisations and its purpose is twofold:
- To provide a unity of purpose and in this unity give a greater strength
and voice to the Martial Arts in Ireland. We feel that the various organisations while striving
manfully are small and competing whereas the IBBA acting as an umbrella body will be larger and cooperative.
- To establish a National Centre for the promotion of the Martial Arts in
Ireland. This development can only come about when members of the different organisations agree to share these objectives.
On no account would the IBBA get involved in any individual
Martial Art organisation. You can become a part of the future by joining up and contributing or you can do nothing but reflect on the past and of what might have been. To date the IBBA have already funded the purchase of equipment for new Judo clubs as well as funding Aikido and Karate Coaching Courses. Should you wish to join and support the aims of the IBBA or require further information you can contact either John Creaven in Galway or Alonzo Henderson in Kildare.
