Judo Coaching Course
23 participants attended the 1st major JUDO IRELAND run Coaching Course held at the Galway Judo Club on Sunday, 04th September last.
The course was presented by John Creaven, 2nd Dan, Senior Coach at the Galway Judo Club & a NCTC Tutor since 1997.
The course content included: -
- Communication Skills
- Judo Rules
- Child Safety – presented by Garda Vincent Jennings
- Code of Conduct for Children’s Sports.
Alonzo Henderson, 4th Dan, took the Galway Regional Youth Squad for a session, which was observed by the delegates & following the lunch break, they were invited to discuss & comment on the way the class was run. The healthy manner in which this open discussion was debated can only argue well for the future.

The new coaches will now be assessed over the coming 12 months by members of the Technical Committee and the new Coaching Certificates will be presented to the successful candidates in September 2006.
