Irish Intervarsity Judo Championships 2005

The Irish University Judo Community showed great solidarity in our sport with players coming from colleges from every corner of Ireland.

Superb displays from Scott Mayne (Jordanstown) & Eva Lauper (DCU) earned both players the ‘Player of the Day’ title, as both had won their weigh categories & respective open categories.

Luca Daminelli(NUIG) won the Charles Hegarty Memorial ‘Spirit of Judo’ award.

Both male & female Team titles went north to the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

The entire event was run in a very professional manner from start to finish by the UL Organising Committee, led by T.J. Davitt & Eilish McNulty, from the weigh-in on Friday evening through to the celebratery dinner dance after the event.

It was decided at the Captain’s meeting that the 2006 event will be hosted by NUIG, Galway.
