This throw produces a fall from the highest position
possible by a throwing technique. Uke attacks as
in the first throw (
Uki Otoshi)
but holds back a bit and braces his ront leg to
prevent himself from being pulled down as in the
first throw. To counter this action, Tori takes
a large step backward, stretching Uke out and drops
down and in, to take advantage of the bent leg,
and lifts Uke across his shoulders to throw him
in a motion like a wheel. Go No Sen in nature.
Uke faces Tori at the rear position with intent to
attack. Uke steps forward, grips, and pushes Tori
backwards. He continues his attack for two steps,
but takes care not to be pulled off balance by bracing
his front leg.
One the second step, Tori changes his left grip
to the inside of Uke’s sleeve. Tori takes the attack
initiative suddenly on the third step, by taking
a long step backwards and ducking under and continuing
the pulling action which unbalances Uke, pulling
him forward across his shoulder.
Tori throws Uke, by standing erect and pulling
down on with his front hand, again the sleeve hand
retains the grip to assist Uke with his ukemi. Tori
exhibits zanshin. They then repeat on left side.
